Santa Venere Estate
Sun, wind and biodiversity
Where there were orchards, peaches, apricots, oranges and lemons… now there is also a large vineyard arranged on airy terraces, where vines with an ancient soul are grown such as Aglianico among the reds; Pecorello and Moscato among the whites. It is the Tenuta Santa Venere, which is located in the homonymous locality in the municipality of Castrovillari (Cosenza). A place with an enviable position, easily reachable from the main roads, nestled at the foot of the Pollino, from where you can see the peaks of the Sila, mountains that protect the place with an ideal microclimate for viticulture, also bringing the beneficial effects of the winds. A few kilometers away, a song of ancient history, places full of charm such as Sibari.
Those citrus fruits, those peaches, inexplicably, but really are the dominant aromas in our Akra Bianco, a wine that speaks with extreme transparency of the estate: its intense aromas, its inebriating freshness, the softness punctuated by light almond notes. A white wine that is born strong in the light of the Mediterranean climate, that breathes the pollen of the lush surrounding nature, just like our Akra Rosso, it is a proud and frank ambassador of the land where the roots of Aglianico, a red grape of great character, queen of the South, seek nourishment: medium-textured soil rich in organic substance, which makes it juicy and soft, iron that gives it character and minerality.
SILA and POLLINO
A region overlooking two seas, famous for its fertility since ancient times, crowned by Sila and Pollino. In our wines the alliance between the warmth of the Mediterranean and the beneficial influence of the mountains is evident.
